Battlestar Galactica to regain it's direction and a spin-off?

In the link above, the article talks a bit about the future of Battlestar. There may be 1 or 2 seasons left in it's future. As much as I like the show, I'm glad they are being giving some direction on an ending point so that they can wrap up the story they want to tell instead of meandering aimlessly like most of this season.
Sunday's episode was a step in the right direction in my opinion, although it probably stood alone instead of advancing the arc.

I'm not sure how I feel about a spin-off..
