Political bias does not belong in the classroom Check out this Finnish documentary clip of 1 teacher who doesn't get it (I promise the audio for the important parts are in English). This American teacher thinks she is being fair and unbiased in her classroom. You decide.:
Did you notice how she humiliated the girl whose father is in Iraq and said she supported McCain?
Update: 11/8/08 9:40PM
The School's superintendent responds:
I am curious to see the actions that are taken.

Haven't you read the articles? Haven't you heard that the film was edited in such a way as to cast the teacher in a negative light? This clip is simply another one of those "sound bites."
This teacher should be rebuked by that girl's parents, her colleagues and the school board alike. Using her position of authority in this fashion--particularly over ten-year olds--is reprehensible. The girl didn't respond, I suspect, because she was dumbstruck. This teacher's behavior is tantamount to schoolyard bullying, and it's being done by the very kind person who is supposed to guide and protect children in public schools.
I'd be perfectly happy to debate this teacher. If her sense of professionalism is on a par with her powers of rhetoric it won't be a very long debate.
Looks like the school is on the case.
