At work today, I was minding my own business, working on some code, when all of the sudden I heard this weird buzzy-ringy sound. I thought to myself.. What the heck was that? The group of co-workers huddled in the corner cubes, playing hacky sack scattered...and then started forming a line. Meanwhile, I was on my hands and knees looking for the secure-id /token I had dropped.
I start hearing the hacky sackers (ooh, I coined a new term!) mutter, a frie drill, yea!.. In the 20 months I have been with this company, never could I recall a fire drill (as they tended to happen before 7:30am), so I had no clue what it would sound like. Then the sound stopped and there was sigh of disappointment from a few souls nearby. Then, i found the token, under the next guy's cube..huzah! And the hacky sackers continued their game...LOL
I guess someone pulled the level by accident...
This took my back to a time the fire alarm was pulled at my alma mater Binghamton University at 2am! I recall it being quite cold stumbling out in the winter with my fluffy slippers. Now THAT was loud and sounded the way a fire alarm should sound...
