I wanna make a jigsaw puzzle that’s 40,000 pieces. And when you finish it, it says ‘go outside. - Demetri Martin

If I had a nickel for every time, I saw a "special" on the Anna Nicole Smith saga or "Britney Shears"., I am pretty sure I'd have the GDP of a small nation. While, what happened to Smith is sad in every meaning of the word, she was no role model or figure who contributed greatly to this world as a whole. Yes, to those who knew her, she was someone very special, but to the rest of us, she was a freak show, train crash, that we'd peer at through our finger with our hands over our eyes. Let her and her family (if she truly has any who don't have dollar signs for pupils) rest and grieve in peace. Does this garner 2 weeks+ of coverage while her body decays? No one even knows who the father of her baby is.. That's ...sad..that's disgusting! Yes, young women and girls around the country, yearning for validation, see a woman like this being idolized in death.... Every time I hear or see Anna, I vow to flip passed that station. What to do when every station is covering it? Turn off the TV, listen to some music, watch a movie, read a book, play in the snow.

Where is the coverage of loving mothers, powerful, successful female professionals, humanitarians, smart girls, female scientists, athletes? I'd be more interested in seeing a 1 hour special on Mothers than ANS...

On to Britney... Ok, I found this whole head shaving thing intriguing at first. But hey, this is an ill woman... She needs help.. Leave her alone... Where is her family? Notice how they're all over her when she's making the big bucks..now that she's in *need*, they seem pretty absent and hands off... When you're daughter is sick, you don't "give her space". You run to her side and hug her even with her arms flailing... Mrs. Lynne Spears, you owe your daughter... Britney - Wake up! You're not 19 yrs old.. you have TWO..count 'em TWO..children... grow up and get the help you need to be a parent... Being a mother is more than carrying a baby in your womb and paying the nanny bill... To the young girls who look up to Britney- learn from her mistakes..and take care of yourself.

*deep breath*

..end rant...
